How much does it cost?
EROAD Where tags are $35 each (sold in a box of 10) and tracking costs $6 per month per tag. EROAD Where Mini tags are $27 each sold in a box of 10) and tracking costs $6 per month per active mini tag. You are billed for each tag that is located in a calendar month. So, if you have tags that you have not installed yet, or that go off grid, you won’t be charged for them with the monthly fee.
How does it work?
Our unique Mesh network is made up of Ehubo Gen 2 units on vehicles traveling around New Zealand and the EROAD Where App on your mobile phones. When you pair this with low energy Bluetooth tags then there is an affordable solution that makes asset tracking attractive for your business.
Can I track using my mobile device?
Yes, Android or IoS. You can use your mobile device to access data, add assets to your database, or add a photo of the asset. Having all your data in the cloud means you can take it with you – use your laptop to access the desktop application wherever your business takes you.
How do I install the tag?
Where tags: Screw it in place, attach with a cable tie, or use industrial strength double sided tape to affix the Where Tag to your asset. Small in size, and rugged in nature, we are sure you will find the perfect spot to hide it.
Where Mini tags: Come with 3M double-sided adhesive pads provided for convenience, that may be used on the non-QR code side to attach to equipment. For assets where the use of adhesives might not be appropriate, use of the triangular hole may be useful for keyring or cable-tie use.
Can it be used for fleet management?
You can use it to locate any asset, but for vehicles we have other solutions that provide up to the second data on where your commercial vehicles are, and we'd love to tell you more about them. You can contact us on 0800 437 623 (press 1 for sales).
Will it work for me?
I am currently a customer of EROAD, does the EROAD Where SaaS platform and Depot talk to each other?
Yes, user, organisation and geofence data between the two systems are synchronised. Client Administrators in the EROAD Depot application automatically become Client Administrators in EROAD Where.
I am currently not a customer of EROAD, does this matter for using EROAD Where?
No, you don't have to be a current EROAD customer to use EROAD Where. You will need to sign up as an EROAD Where customer to access the system and may need to undertake a credit check for any invoiced based billing. If you purchase from Shopify then you will automatically be set up as a customer.
For what kinds of assets?
What types of assets is EROAD Where suitable for?
The EROAD Where and Where Mini Tags have been designed to work with most outdoor assets and smaller, important assets such as keyrings and power tools.
Are there any types of assets that you don't recommend EROAD Where for?
As the EROAD Where and Where Mini Tags use Bluetooth to communicate they will not work when fully encased in metal.
Can EROAD Where be used around assets such as fuel tanks, or assets which contain flammable goods?
The EROAD Where and Where Mini Tags are not EX 1 or 2 rated. If the environment that you are working in requires one of those ratings, then it is not recommended that the Where or Where Mini Tags are used.
My asset is outside a lot, will the tag survive the weather?
The EROAD Where Tag has been designed with outdoor environments in mind. We have tested it with all the conditions that you can expect for an outdoor environment including dust, immersion in salt water, being dropped, and even the truck wash. Operating Temperature: -30 to +85ºC.
How can I manage my assets using Where?
How can I manage my assets using the website?
There are three main ways that you can view your assets through the web portal of EROAD Where:
The Asset Overview screen gives a summary of where your assets are. It groups assets by site, customer, geofence type and asset type. You can export this data or use filters to suit your preferences.
The Asset Summary summarises details of all your assets. This includes the Asset ID, asset type, the last known location of the asset, and battery strength of the EROAD Where or Where Mini Tag. This information can all be exported or filtered to suit your preferences.
The Map View allows you to see a graphic summary of all of the sites that contain your assets, and how many assets are at that site. You can click on any of these sites to get more information about the asset details that are included in that location.
How can I manage my sites using EROAD Where?
Simply draw in a geofence to define a site – either your depot or a customer location. Each site that you geofence using EROAD Where can be set up as a long-term site, or for a particular length of time. Your existing sites in EROAD’s Depot will automatically sync if you are an EROAD customer.
What details can I see about the sites that I am using?
For each site you can include information that helps you to identify the site including contact details, and to attribute the site to a part of your business for billing or taxation purposes. EROAD Where will assign to the site the details of the assets that are on that site.
What details can I store about the asset?
We have included a lot of possibilities for you to store data. It is possible to include information that helps you to identify and manage the asset, including information you would use for taxation purposes and for attributing it to one of your business units. You may want to use many, or a few of these fields, that is totally up to what suits your business best.
Can I filter the reports to only look at specific types of assets?
Yes, any field of information about the asset or on the site can be used to filter the information.
How does the mesh network work?
How does the mesh network work?
All of the EROAD Ehubo2 units that are driving around New Zealand, plus the EROAD Where Apps on mobile phones form the mesh network. They are scanning every second for EROAD Where Tags. When any of them pick up a connection to a tag they will store that information and send the locations of the tags that they have picked up in 5-minute lots. Bluetooth networking transmits data via low-power radio waves.
How close does an Ehubo need to be to detect a Bluetooth Tag?
The Ehubo Generation 2 will pick up a Where Tag within 70 metres, and the Where Mini Tag within 25 metres. Please note that metal objects and electrical equipment emitting strong RFs can interfere with Bluetooth or block it entirely.
